Turning Halloween on its Head

inverted halloween

There's no denying it, children love the opportunity to dress up and go knocking on people's doors. So that's exactly what we'll be doing again this Halloween. But instead of "Trick or Treating", we'll be "Blessing AND Treating"; instead of promoting horror & fear we'll be spreading joy & laughter; instead of begging for treats we'll be sharing our sweets; instead of threatening a trick we'll be declaring a blessing:

"The Lord bless you & keep you.
The Lord make His face shine upon you.
The Lord grant you His favour,
And give you His peace".

Getting children to go door-to-door GIVING chocolates away?  Sound ridiculous?  We know!  But we're confident that, as in previous years, everyone who takes part will discover that laughter is more powerful than screams; giving more rewarding than taking.

And after we've finished blessing and treating the residents of Chilton, we'll meet back together for some fun & food around a fire.

So join us turning Halloween on it's head:

  • The fun starts at Chilton Village Hall 5.15pm. Home time is 7.45pm (Saturday 31st October - naturally!)

  • Wear fancy dress and a smile [Funny NOT frightening - superheros, princesses, doctors, nurses, brides, clowns, mad scientists, disco divas, santa,...]. Hey, adults, why not get into the spirit of it too. If it's good enough for Fathers 4 Justice it's good enough for us!

  • We'll be outdoors for lots of the time so we recommend LOTS of under-layers!

  • Come with your best jokes lined up (the shorter the better!)

  • Most of all come with an attitude that is ready to bless others, have lots of fun and make people smile :)

  • The event is entirely FREE
